When the Sandak’s called me, they knew exactly what they wanted. Both of their boys are actors and needed new headshots. They also wanted to get a few family shots by the lake where they live. The moment I set eyes on this gorgeous family and their to-die-for red hair, I knew that this was going to be fun. The boys didn’t disappoint – they had energy abounding!
Technically, you have already met Brittany. You can see her 2 Senior Sessions HERE and HERE. Brittany is my sister. So why, you ask, am I listing her under my immediate family? Brittany is A LOT younger than me. I was almost moved out of the house when she was born. She is really a lot more like my daughter than my sister. More importantly, she’s one of my best friends. That, in my book, makes her immediate family.
I will be blogging this in it’s entirety, but for now, here are a few shots of Brittany before her senior prom.
You have met Alex & Emily – now meet Thomas! Thomas is my other half, my best friend, and my toughest photography critic. I wouldn’t be able to run Cristen Farrell Photography if I didn’t have his support and encouragement every day. He has pushed me to make my dreams a reality and, for that, I am eternally grateful.
Here are a few shots of Thomas on our recent vacation from Southern California to Northern California and back. Of course, because he is obsessed with baseball, when we found an old, abandoned baseball field near Mt. Whitney, we knew that we had to stop and get a few shots. And because he is obsessed with politics, we knew we had to snap a shot in front of our state capitol in Sacramento.
I’d like to introduce you to Alex, my 6 year old son. I was pleasantly surprised when he was asked to audition for a movie! I was embarassed to say that, yes I am a photographer and, no my son doesn’t have headshots (oops!). The audition was the next day – yikes! These are the quickie headshots we did the night before.
The week of Sandy’s headshot session, the weather had been less than ideal for photography, but somehow Mother Nature got it right just in time and it turned out to be a beautiful day. Sandy was looking for some all-purpose headshots, as she is a classically trained musician and needs to use them in many different mediums.
Now these weren’t technically Elizabeth’s senior portraits, more like a trial run. We met at Castaic Lake on a sunny afternoon. Elizabeth is an aspiring photographer herself and had the fantastic idea to use one of the bright blue lifeguard stands right on the beach. The result was striking images that totally set off her gorgeous coloring. Take a peek!
It was yet another chilly photo session, but the Michaels family didn’t seem to notice at all. The girls were so excited to be taking photos – they had tons of their own ideas ready when they arrived at the session and they totally worked it – LOVE IT! It was a pleasure working with all three of you gorgeous ladies!
