I really loved working with the Johnstons for the first time last year; you can view their first session HERE. I was so excited when M contacted me to set up another session. Returning clients are the best kind because I absolutely love seeing their kids grow! For this particular session, we were on rainy weather watch (so strange for this time of year) prior to the session, but it cleared out and dried up just in time. We had some gorgeous light after all!
The H Family (see their original family session HERE) booked two consecutive sessions, so after their large family session, we headed back to the Cristen Farrell Photography Studio for some formal family photos. I am all about simple and classic, so we chose a solid black background, which really sets apart their faces. About half way through, the H’s niece and nephew came by so we could take a few shots with all 5 kids. Let me just say…they are all simply adorable and polite…such sweet kids!
After one reschedule (thanks to me being sick as a dog) and then avoiding a 50% chance of rain, the D Family’s session turned out to be the perfect day for family photos. I was beyond excited when 2 year old T jumped out of the car in the cutest red petti-romper and matching teal and red hair clip – could this kid be any cuter?! T was so sweet and full of energy and….attached to her Tigger stuffed animal! We spent the majority of the photo session with Tigger peeking out of my camera bag at T – a pseudo game of peek-a-boo. Of course, we HAD to have her beloved Tigger in some of the images though – what a lovely, warm memory for her to look back on one day.
I couldn’t help but think of my own little one when I saw this week’s photo challenge. My 2 year old daughter is full of innocent spunk and sass and laughter. Where her brother has always been well-behaved and easygoing, she has always been one to test our limits. I was snapping pictures in the backyard one day and she ran up and made this face at me, happily screaming at the top of her lungs, a true testament to her personality.
I had so much fun with the F Family! I loved their fun-loving personalities, energy, and obvious closeness. Dad wasn’t able to join us until the end of the session, but we had lots of fun awaiting his arrival. We climbed trees, played on the playground, and even danced. The best part of the location we chose that day, Valencia Glen Park, was that all of the trees were in bloom and they were almost the exact same color as the girls’ dresses – awesome!
I can hardly believe it, but my nephew, Baby J, is already 3 months old, so it was time for more portraits. Look how big he has gotten since his newborn portraits (view them HERE)!
And one of 3 year old Big Sis B, just because!
Yesterday marked the official launch of CristenFarrellPhotography.com. I am so very grateful for the positive response and numerous emails of interest I have received. Thank you so much to my friends, family, and clients for making the launch such a huge success!
And huge congrats go to the winners of my Facebook and Twitter contest winners: Lori Ann V., Vanessa M., Jessica D., and Mike M. They are the lucky winners of a free session (valued at $195). Of course, photos to follow!
Stay tuned for more fun stuff, contests, and coupons on the horizon! If you aren’t already a fan on Facebook and/or a follower on Twitter, follow the links at the top of this blog to get started.
