A Three-peat! | Santa Clarita Family Photographer

This is the third time that I have photographed the G Family, including their ever-so-handsome twin boys who are successful actors.  You can view their FIRST and SECOND sessions here on the blog.  This time, we did a multi-functional session, if you will.  Family portraits + headshots + a gorgeous family = some pretty great images!

Breaking Radio Silence | Santa Clarita Photographer

To say that my life has been crazy lately would be an understatement.  I’ve been juggling so many things that my blog has fallen down a notch (or two) on my priority list.  That said, I’m happy to present a new post, a session with my son, who I’m having the time of my life watching grow up into a strong, confident little man. ❤

Gabriela’s Actor Headshots | Los Angeles Photographer

Gabriela’s headshot session almost didn’t happen; Mother Nature just wasn’t cooperating.  We had to reschedule once due to high winds and we battled rain drops on the second date a week later.  Luckily, although it was raining on my drive to the session location, the weather cleared up and gave way to a gorgeous cloudy, cool day.  We braved the cold and snapped away.

Let’s Go to the Beach! | Los Angeles Photographer

What better images to blog than a beach session on Christmas Eve Day? It makes me think of warm sand between my toes and the sun on my hair…warm breezes and the murmur of the waves.  Feeling warm now?

The Guerra Family was back! They are all working actors and frequently need to update their headshots. They also wanted to get some family shots for their holiday cards. When L requested to shoot at the beach, I loved the idea – what a great representation of Southern California and the whole “Hollywood” persona!

Pink Blossoms | Santa Clarita Family Photographer

I had so much fun with the F Family!  I loved their fun-loving personalities, energy, and obvious closeness. Dad wasn’t able to join us until the end of the session, but we had lots of fun awaiting his arrival. We climbed trees, played on the playground, and even danced.  The best part of the location we chose that day, Valencia Glen Park, was that all of the trees were in bloom and they were almost the exact same color as the girls’ dresses – awesome!

The M Family | Santa Clarita Family Photographer

The M Family was looking to book a session on short notice and boy, were they lucky! My calendar is booked about 2 months out, but I had JUST happened to have a client call to reschedule. The M Family scooted into that timeslot and off we went to Hart Park in Newhall.

The M Family has 3 boys, all very close in age. You can tell that, although I’m sure they give each other a hard time, these boys are a clan.  One thing they have in common? Perry the Platypus! The amazing thing is that I can totally talk Phineas & Ferb and enjoy it (chalk that up to having a 7 year old son myself!).  We laughed and had a great time and I even discovered that the youngest brother has a secret wish to start acting. Headshots anyone?

Cindi’s Studio Headshots {Realtor} | Santa Clarita Headshot Photographer

Today Cindi stopped by my home studio for a quickie studio headshot session.  Cindi is a realtor here in Santa Clarita and needed an updated headshot for her business cards.  We only took about 15 photos, but that was really all we needed – she is so photogenic! Check out my favorite image!

The Guerra Twins: Headshots | Santa Clarita Headshot Photographer

Last week, you met the Guerra Family.  I honestly had so many images that I loved from their session that I decided to split the images into two blog posts.

So…how many of you noticed that the Guerra boys are twins? Oh yes…very dashingly handsome, charismatic twins who are ACTORS!  It was time to update their headshots, so we set some time aside from their family portrait session to focus on headshots.

We had SO much fun goofing around while taking their photos!  They cracked me up! Let’s hope that Hollywood snatches this talented twosome right up.

Announcing: STUDIO SESSIONS | Santa Clarita Photographer

WHY ADD STUDIO SESSIONS?

I am and always have been a natural light photographer and that’s not going to change any time soon. I love playing with light and I love exploring new nooks and crannies at different locations…the possibilities are endless!  But what happens if it rains? What happens if it’s REALLY windy (hello, Santa Ana winds!).  Until now, the only option was to reschedule, but that’s all about to change.

When I posed the option of studio sessions to my current clients, I was shocked at how excited and on-board with it they were!  I knew right then and there that, to properly serve my market here in the Santa Clarita Valley,  I needed to add studio work to my services, not only as a backup plan, but also as a service option.

You know what?  The truth is, I love studio work just as much as natural light work, ESPECIALLY PHOTOGRAPHING NEWBORNS!  Studio work truly holds a completely new set of possibilities and a clean, uniform style.

THE SCOOP ON STUDIO SESSIONS*

Studio sessions will be priced the same as natural light sessions ($195 session fee) and will also run 1 – 2 hours in length.  Newborn sessions may run up to 3 hours to allow for feedings, diaper changes, clothing changes, etc.

Many more props are available for studio sessions than natural light sessions (I wish I could lug all of this with me on natural light sessions!).  For newborn sessions, I have baskets, bowls, blankets, hats, headbands, and more! For family / child sessions, I have chairs, stools, toy props, dress up clothing, and more!  A variety of backdrops are available for different and unique looks.

AVAILABILITY

Starting today, I will be accepting reservations for studio sessions on a first-come, first-serve basis, including newborn**, family (up to 4 family members), and headshot sessions.  For the time being, reservations will be limited, as they will take place at my home studio so I can properly judge the level of interest in this service.  If the level of interest is sufficient, there is a plan in place to rent an official studio space, at which time, availability will be expanded.

*Although initial sessions will take place in my home studio, all studio equipment is of the highest, professional grade quality.  This is the same equipment that would eventually be transferred to a permanent studio.

**If booking a newborn studio session, please remember that it is highly recommended to book your session in your newborn’s first 1 – 2 weeks of life.

Dylan: Hart High Class of 2011 | Santa Clarita Senior Portrait Photographer

I love, love, LOVE that Dylan wanted to shoot at her high school, where she has been actively involved in her ASB. One of her main requests was that we capture the memories of the 4 years she spent at Hart High School.  We walked the campus and she pointed out all of the spots that stood out in her mind and we snapped away.  Honestly, she made it look easy.
